swine influenza

Today I want to tell you about the swine influenza that is the most interesting topic in the world.

First, do you know what the influenza is?
It is the influenza of pigs, but it influences to the human and the other animals.
The reason why the pigs get the influenza is the indigestion and fever of pigs.
In a bad case, the other pigs that didn't get the influ were infected by air and food.
The influenza is called as H1N1 now, and WHO that is the organization of health problems is worried about this influ now.

Next, I'm gonna talk about the damage of influ to human,us.
In 1976, the influ was affected to human first in the United States, and as soon as the first victim died, about 500 people got the influ.
But they didn't die because of vaccine that is great for the influ.
Do you know why does the influ affect the human in these days?
I think it is the bad environment of the countries/water.
In this time, the first victim found in Mexico , April 2009.
And soon about 100 people died in Mexico area, and the damage of it became bigger and bigger.
So more than 8000 people were affected by it in the world, and the influ affected the people in Japan.
Today, a man who was 55 year old man died in Queen which is located in NY.
He was the 6th human that died by the influ in the United States this year.
I was afraid about it, when I heard that news.
I will back to Japan during the summer vacation, but we won't be careless in NY and also Japan.

I think the volume of victim has limit to use, so may be the victim will disappear in the near future.
The government of the world should find the other way to stop the influ.
And we should take care ourselves for example, washing our hands when the lunch time.
If the countries in the world will not find the new way, maybe the population in the world will decrease so quickly, so we should decide the new plan for our healthy feature!!

Day trip

The 9th grade students went to Natural History Museum for day trip last Thursday.
The museum is located next to the central park in New York city and on that day many other school's students came to the museum may be for the same reason.

That was the 2nd time to visit the museum.
Last time I went to there with my parents 2 years ago.

In the morning, I walked around with about 6 students and a teacher.
The museum was so big and it was a long walking for us, so we got tired soon.
But the teacher told about some information about the traditional things and the animals.
My favorite part of the museum was the cornerthat introduce about the mammal in Africa and the traditional things of native Indians.
Some of the mammal were a little small but most of them were too big to see and I was surprised about the size of them and the characteristics of their lives.
And also there were some interesting things about Ainu that is the kind of traditional Japanese group such as the instruments of them and the weapon.

In the afternoon, we broke up into groups for the geography project.
We should research the animals or things that represent the five themes of geography that are movement, region, location, interaction and place.
I thought the project was easy to find before started researching.
But the researching with group members was a little hard, because we couldn't correct the things from the same area and we had a hard time to find the place that shows these things.
As a result we got much of information about the project!!!
We found the bone of mammoth and some strange birds that live in New York.
I haven't get the result of the project yet, so I don't know about it, but I was satisfied with the final draft of the project.

Walking the large museum made us tired, but that was a great time to study the mechanism of our lives and to spend a time with my friends and teachers.
I'm not sure about the next year's day trip where will we go, but may be I will be able to enjoy ourselves next year.

Preparation!!!!

Today I want to talk about the preparation for the athletic day.
We have an athletic day on this Wednesday, that is why I write this blog today.
We have the 2athletic days on September and May, and this is the 2nd time to participate in the event.

There are some differences between the 2athletic days.
First, the day on September is called field day and we play volleyball, soccer and basketball.
But the athletic day on this week is like a real athletic day such as the sports event in Japan.
We compete with the other team"s members by running, mock cavalry battles and relay.

The main thing of the day is the cheering up ourselves.
The theme of this athletic day is Musical!!!!!
So the leaders of each group think choreography for a month.
We practice the dance after school and during the study hour for the competition.
Most of the groups dance with some interesting songs that are related to the musicals.
My group members dance with a Japanese song called "Kibun↑↑" and two English song called "you can't stop the beat" and "We're all in this together".
I knew all of the songs, so it is so fun to dance with them.
We had a practice in this morning from 7:30, so I had to wake up earlier than usual.
It is a little hard thing to get up early, but I practiced about for 20minutes with 25 group members.
Maybe I have a practice during today's study hour, and I will do my best for the day.
I can't learn the choreography quickly, but my seniors helped me to learn.
So I could understand how to dance, and I want to say thank you for helping for me!

I am so exiting to greet/reach the performance day of the athletic day on this Wednesday!!

Sho-fu-sai

We had a school festival named "Sho-fu-sai" last week.

We had to prepare for the festival a lot.
So most of the homerooms painted and made some posters from 3 monthes ago.
9th grade students made a place to take some pictures and made soem kinds of game land.
The theme of our performance is the summer festival, and we made 2 large posters for taking pictures.

The main day of this festival, all of the homerooms should entertain the other class's students, parents and visiters, and it looks like a school festival in Japan.
But there is a big difference between the festival in Japan and at Keio Academy of NY.
We can't eat or provide food, because of the health problems.
It was hard to call the people into our classes, because our class was secluded from the other classes.

I think the most exiting point of the festival is the small festival that opened the day before the festival which is called "zenyasai'.
Many rock club members and the dance team named "Zion" performed a lot of interesting performance for the students, and it took about 3 hours.
At that time, we could watch Cm that were made by the students of each homeroom.
Those Cm were good, and they made us funny and happy a lot.

After the festival, we should clean up our sets.
I was a member of the school festival association, so I also had to clean up the room that was used a lot and messed up by our preparation.
That was the hardest cleaning up, and it took about 2 hours to clean all of the things in that room.

I was so pleased by the many performances and the festival.
Finally I would like to say thank you for our leaders who are Himei and Keiko!!!
I hope Sho-fu-sai of next year will be more succeed in!!

Today I want to write about my spring vacation!!!

We have one week spring vacation after the school festival(April 20~26), and my parents came from Japan to have fun with the school festival.
So I stayed at the hotel that is located in White Planes with my parents during the vacation.

We have the baseball tickets for Monday's night game that NY Yankees against with Oakland Athletics at the new Yankee stadium which was opened last week.
But Monday was so bad rainy day, so the game was canceled.
We visit the stadium next day to exchange the tickets to the other game, and as a result we got the tickets for Wednesday's day game at the stadium.
On the game day, there wasn't the sunny light and it was a cold day.
Both of the teams had hit a lot and scored 7 runs when 9th inning was finished.
So the game went into the extra innings, most of the fans have came back to their home, but We didn't do that. Because we wanted to check the result at the stadium.
In 14 inning, Yankee's player hit a 2run home run and the game's end.
I was impressed by the ending, and it was so great game.
We saw 3home runs in the game and one of them was Matsui's one.
I thought watching a baseball game at the stadium is better than on TV, because we can enjoy the atmosphere of the game and the stadium.

On the other day, we went to see the show which was performed by the circus organization named "Cirque Du Soleil" and it performs many kinds of shows all over the world.
I have seen the other kinds of shows in Las Vegas and Orlando.
I couldn't believe the suppleness and abilities of the performers!!!!!
They performed the great show for us, and all of us could have fun with them.
That was an amazing stage(^-^),so I recommend you to see the show.
I could enjoy and refresh myself with those events and the stay at a hotel with my parents.
So I want to say thank you to my parents.
I will study and work the school events and the club activity harder, and my goal is "enjoy my school life with friends and teachers the rest of the year"!!

The hard week

Today I will talk about this week schedule which is one of the hardest week for me.

During this week, you know the softball team that I am belong to has 2away games and 1 home game. and today is the last day of the series of battles at Keio Academy.
We lost the last 2 games very easily.
One of the reason we lost the games is the difference of the ability between Keio and the other teams.
Almost players are beginners to play softball in my team, but there are many great players look like professional softball player in the other teams.
So we have to beat them by our strategy such as Banting and stealing, but it is the hard way to beat them.
We have to practice more after school and I hope we will beat them in the future.

And also, I have the big test of math tomorrow.
But I didbn't study a lot yesterday, because of the softball game.
I was trying to solve those math questions by myself until 1am this morning.
But they are difficult, and I didn't solve them without checking the answer paper.
That is why, I am soooooo sleepy today.
I have to study for the math test after the game.
And I had a project of Oral Communication which is due tomorrow.
I did almost of them last night with my group members.
We have to make the guide book which tells "how to survive this school?" for the next 9th grade students. It is a kind of fun project, but I took a looong time to finish it.
My group made a guide book about the events and how to spent a time on weekends.
We took questionnaire to the 9th grade students about those topics and made a lot of fun pages!

And also I had to make a 3-minutes presentation on Monday.
I made a speech about the new president of the U.S. , Barack Obama.
May be it is not a fun presentation, but I chose that topic because there I got as some information about him on the Internet last weekend.
I had(have) many things to do like those stuffs, but it wasn't the boring week, I think it was fun.
As the daily block calender on the second floor, we have only 53 days until the year will be over.
We have more 2days classes before the school festival called "Sho-fu-sai", so I should overcome this hard week, and I want to enjoy and refresh myself with my parents during the spring vacation next week.

Backstreet Boys

Today I will introduce about one of my favorite musicians named backstreet Boys!!

It is the famous musician in the U.S. and also Japan, and there are a lot of fans allover the world.
I knew this music group three years ago in a CD shop in the U.S., I bought an album of this band then.
This four group band is consist of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and A.J McLean.
When this band build on 1993, there were another member named Kevin Richardson, but he resigned from this band.
Backstreet Boys has sold a lot of great pop-music from 1993 to now.
I was born in 1993, so this band is as same old as me.

Now I want to tell you about its very famous and popular songs.
First, my favorite song is "I want it that way" which was released in 1999.
It is a kind of love song, and this song shows us each feeling of a couple.
I chose this song for the poem class's assignment that teached by Mrs.Mulvey.
This song is the most hit song in 1999.
The second greatest song is "Shape of my heart" which was released in 2000.
It also shows the Strong love feeling from a man to his girl friend.
Finally the most exciting and energetic song is "Everybody" which was released in 1997.
This song is used at many dance parties in the U.S.

The songs of Backstreet Boys make you great feeling by lyrics and sound of the songs.
So if you like to listen to music, you should try hearing these kinds of songs that I introduced in the last paragraph.

Rookies

Today, I want to tell you about my favorite TV Drama that I watched in Japan last summer.
The name of the drama is "Rookies" and it was broadcast ed from April to June 2008.
That drama was made by Japanese comics named "Rookies" that was published from 1998 and the writer was Masanori Morita who is one of the famous comic writer in Japan.
I've not read the comic but as my friend who was reading that said there were some difference between drama and the original comics.
And also there are many famous and popular actors on the drama.
I was interested in the storyline, so I watched on TV with my parents.
Now I'll tell you about the storyline for this drama.
The drama is about the high school students who played baseball.
In the beginning of it most of the baseball players fought each other and broke down glasses everyday at their school, because of their bad experience that the senior player knocked the head of the other team's pitcher by a bat.
But one day a new teacher came to their school to give some dreams for those students.
After he came, those baseball players started to change their minds by his words and bravery, and all players came back to the baseball team.
And they started to aim for Koshien which is the highest level baseball tournament for high school students in Japan.
I cannot tell you after they overcome their mind's problems, because I want you to watch this drama on TV and your computer by yourselves.

The movie of this drama series will open on May 30th this year!!
That will may be about the student's last year at the school and their graduation.
This is may be the final story of "Rookies", so I'll go to the cinemas in Japan during summer vacation with my friends to see.
I am so exiting about the movies!!!!

Lacrosse Home Game

On March 18th, there was the boy's lacrosse game at the field of Manhattan ville college.
Keio NY against with Keio High school which is located in Japan.
Most of the players of Keio NY are 9th and 10th graders, but Keio student came from Japan were 11th and 12th students.

So the sizes of their bodies and height were different.
I have never watched lacrosse game since that day, so I was interesting about the game.
For example how to start the game and how to get some points.
That was fantastic game!!!!
I have never knew that boy's lacrosse is the dangerous sport, they were beating each other by their sticks that have a pocket.
As a result, Keio NY lose that game, but may be they could learn about playing a lot.
I think that was a nice experience for them.

Now I want to tell you about Lacrosse a little.
10players may play in the game at one time, and there are some different positions.

Each of the different position's player have different shaped or size cross.
The team that shoot the ball into the goal , that team gets one point in each goals.
The role of lacrosse is similar to the rule of American football and ice hokey.

I want to cheer them on for the season games start in April!

i-pod touch

Today I want to introduce about i-pod touch which is the music player made by APPLE.
That was sold by APPLE which is one of the most largest computer and high technology company all over the world.
I was bought i-pod nano 2nd generation in December 2006 by my parents for my Christmas present.
But it has a smaller screen, and the users cannot use the Internet by this player.
So I want a new music player like i-pod touch.
I-pod touch isn't the newest music player, but it has a very big size screen.
And also we can use the Internet, and keep the movies and dramas for 8 hours!
The most interesting point of this player is we control the player by touching the screen.
I've never tried that kind of machine, so I am so interesting about that.

Another music players made by APPLE are also great.
The newest player is i-pod shuffle which is shuffle the musics in the player by itself.
So if you don't want to choose your music on each time, you must buy it.
It is so smaller and lighter than the others.

I-pod nano is also great player.
There are many kinds of color such as orange and purple.
It is small and it can keep musics in the player a lot, and cheaper than i-pod touch.
But it hasn't the large screen like i-pod touch.
I am negotiating with my parents about i-pod touch.
If they let me buy that, I'll go to APPLE store in White Plains on the weekends with my friends.

Keio NY rugby team had a home game(scrimmage) on last Sunday.
That was the first time to see live rugby game.
Keio won that game very easily, but they looked so tired after the game.
I have watched some rugby games on TV in Japan with my father, because the rugby team of my father's college is good at rugby.
So I know about some rules of rugby.
Keio University has the strongest rugby team in Japan and many professional players who are playing in Japanese League were the graduates of this team.

Today I want to introduce the rule of rugby.
Players cannot throw behind the player, they have to throw a rugby ball behind the player.
That is the biggest difference between rugby and American football.
Players make good passes and run to the goal where the Poul is standing to get points.
That is called TRY, and the team gets 5 points by TRY.
After TRY, the kicker let kick the rugby ball to the Poul.
If the ball go throw between of the Poul, the team gets 2 points.
There are 2 types of positions, forward and backs like football, and each players on the field have different job to get the score.
And 15 players can play one at the time.
The other difference between rugby and football is the protectors of each players.
In football, all players must wear the helmet and they put on thick and heavy protectors in their uniform.
But in rugby, the players do not wear the protectors like football, they wear thinner protectors than football in their uniform.
And also the shape of ball is rare shape like this picture.

I want to see home rugby games next time with my friends.

Sky Trip

We have 4 days break from 2/28 to 3/3 because of the eAdd Imagentrance exam.
During this break, many students went to Killington, Vermont for skiing.

We took a bus from Keio to Killington hotel, and it took about 5hours.
I have been to ski since I was 11 years old, so I was so exited to ski there.
There were Meany courses for biginner and professional skier.
I took some lessons there, and I learmed how to ski easily and also how to warm up our bodies when the outside is cold.
The instractor of this lesson took a video that we were skiing, and in the afternoon the students of the lesson checked out the form of our skiing.
I have never seen my skiing form, so it was so precious exparence for us.

I went to the peak of Killington Mts with my friends, the view from the peak was so beautiful.
There were a lot of another mountains that are covered with snow.
Many skiers that have the high skill for skiing skied there, and I was afraid to ski the moutain.
But it was very exiting and safty course, so after I skied there me and my friends wanted to try the same moutain again.
On that day, we skied the mountain for 3 times.

Some other place that we were impressed was the shop that sold waffles at the bottom of the moutain.
The waffle of that store was so delicious, and we ate them once a day during this travel.
I want to eat it again when I will go to there next year.

I want to visit there with my friends next year, and we would like to try another moutains that have more sharpness.

The day at Indian Hills High School

Yesterday, We went to Indian Hills High School to exchange our culture.
When I arrived that school, I was surprised by its large facilities.
There are 2 gyms, a large weight room and a hall that is much bigger than our hall at my school.
And also there are a lot of trophies for educational championship, sports and music tournament.

While the other Keio students and Indian Hills students enjoyed the talent show, I and two my friends participated in the geography class.
The students who were in the class were 11 and 12th students, so they looks older and grown-up, and they asked about Japanese Culture and location.
They were interested in Japanese high technology and transportation system, and they said they want to try the Japanese style banding machine.
It was very fun and precious time for me to communicate with native speakers, I want to say thank you for the teachers and the students.

In the lunch time, we ate pizza and some cookies in a classroom, and they were delicious.
But I thought that I want to eat the regular lunch that the students eat everyday at cafeteria with the students, because most of food in my cafeteria are Japanese food, and I think it's a nice experience to do that.
This time we tough about Fukuwarai that is played in bi ginning of the year to the students.
I think they enjoyed making and playing Fukuwarai, so maybe we were succeed in the lecture this time.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed bowling with the students.
In first game, I got 104 points and I won the game, so I was so grad.
And during the game we could talk with two girls about our school life at Keio.
After bowling, we went to "Macaroni and Grill" that is a restaurant to have dinner.
I shared a table with 3 Keio students and 4 Indian Hills students, and I communicated with two boys about our hobbies and the dormitory life at Keio.
According to their talk, Indian Hills High students get up at 5:30 -5:45 every morning and the school begins at 7:30 every day.
When I heard it, I was surprised about it, because I usually get up at 7:20.
And they wanted to try our dormitory life where there aren't parents.

It was very precious time to communicate with native speakers who are the same ages as us, so I want to say thank you for the enjoyable day to the students and the teachers of Keio and Indian Hills.
I am so exiting to meet them again in April this year at Keio NY.

The drama stage at Keio NY

I went to the drama stage at Keio NY today.
My senpais were acting as different characters in each different stories like the real actors.
They acted 8 classic short stories at that time.
My favorite story was "The Ransom of Red Chief" written by O.Henry.
Now I would like to tell you about this story.

Two fool robbers are the main characters of this story.
One day, they planed to kidnapped a boy who is a child of a rich man to get a lot of money from the man, and they did very well as the plan.
But finally these men misunderstood the meaning of a letter that sent from the rich man, so they had to pay some money for the man and they didn't get any money.
It was a very interesting story for me.

The actors who are on the stage used English to act those stories.
I though it's hard to remember many scripts of each stories in English for today's live stage.
I was impressed with their acting skills and also their English pronunciation skills.
I want to be a woman who can tell something to people in English like those actors, when I will graduate this school 4 years later.
If they have the other drama stages, I would like to go and enjoy the stage with my friends.

my club activity

today, I would like to introduce about my club activity.
I belonged to girl's soccer team in fall season and in winter season I belonged to girl's basketball team this year.
And I will participate in the softball team in spring season.
I particiapated all season sports(fall, spring and winter), becuse I like to play sports.
As the senior student and some teachers said, the softball club couldn't play games with the other teams, because there weren't enough people to make a team for softball last year.
But this year there are about 15 players and 5 managers in the team, so we can beat the other teams.
Today We have the first practice after school, so I am so exited.
I have played softball since I entered the junior high school in Japan, because I love baseball.
I wanted to belong to the baseball team in my junior high school, but according to the official baseball leage rules, girls(women) player can't play baseball on the same field as men players.
When I knew the rule from the book that I bought in a bookstore, I was shocked.

Do you know why do I love baseball and softball?
I went to the school that is nine-year education at conbined elementary, junior and senior high school in Japan, so I could cheer the many kinds of club team like baseball and soccer that played on the ground.
when I was 2nd grade student, the baseball team of my high school won the largest tournament in Kanagawa in Japan, and then they got a ticket to join the largest baseball tournament for high school students named Koshien.
I had not knew about any rules of baseball and Koshien until the baseball team had joined the tournament in summer.
Many of students cheered them up at the baseball studium that is located in Hyogo.
It was very fun and preicious experience for me.
After the summer, I had played hand-baseball on the school ground with boy students.
I love baseball/softball because of these experiances.
I would like to enjoy playing softball with my team mates at Keio New York.

test

just testing in English Class
